Case 1:I just realized I was caught in a romance scam. What should I do?
I met someone on a dating app who encouraged me to invest in short-term cryptocurrency trading. A few months of contact allowed her to gain my trust and tell me that my initial small investment eventually brought me returns. Recently, she has also been persuading me to take out a loan to expand my investment (fortunately I did not take out a loan). After a more thorough investigation, I was shocked to realize that this was a complete pig-killing love scam. Although I had previously struggled to search for information about this crypto wallet on Google, I found that it was reportedly used for fraud by a website
I tried to withdraw my crypto from the wallet, but I knew that the transaction would not be completed easily. I have not yet confronted the scammer about this, and I pretended that everything was normal. I tried to convince her to allow me to withdraw the crypto, saying that I just needed to test how to withdraw or pay off some credit cards. I wanted to express my continued interest in investing and taking out loans. However, I was ultimately pessimistic about whether this would work. I thought it was worth a try anyway.
